Question: If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?

This is probably the story for most people. We are torn – and quite simply this is often the battle between your head and your heart.

All too often, we assume that a midlife crisis is aligned with biological age. It’s more about the power of one voice – the heart – as it begins to shout louder than the other – the head. And, unfortunately, it doesn’t always occur at the most opportune times. But that is life and its choices.

We make choices every day. In the end, they all have the same weight. Listen to your heart; you’ll regret less.
(WC 99)

Incidentally, I posted this question to my facebook status and got some good ‘feedback.’ But perhaps the best was the response “because we get married!” Love it ~ unless of course my wife doesn’t think it’s funny because then neither do I!

Question: What is worse, failing or never trying?

Pretty straight forward — never trying. And based on the responses that I’ve received on twitter & fb, most seem to agree. This then leads itself to the question – then why don’t more people venture to the ledge?

I imagine that the answer lies between saying and doing. Like an interview, most people know the ‘right answer.’ I am beginning to implement the ‘right answer.’ For I now am blessed to have a son and thus the eternal driving question – How do I want him to remember me by?

(WC 89)

By the way – I think that this topic might need more discussion. I’m going to write a more ‘thoughtful’ post on it. Stay tuned!

Question: How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?

First thought – between 19 and 21. Second fleeting thought – 8 and 10. Breathe. Think. Reflect. Ahhh, 30! Just last year when my wife and I were blessed by the birth of my son. It also marks the age when I official declared my intention to begin my first mid-life crisis! Final answer.

I just recently came across a great little post by Marc & Angel Hack Life. The article is designed to be thought provoking and requires the reader to be reflective. Mission accomplished!

I’ve decided to use it as an attempt to post more frequently and more concisely. I’m going to answer 1 of the questions (ideally daily) and attempt to keep my response to under 100 words. Short and to the point.
